Child Dedications

YOU ARE INVITED!!
One of the greatest blessings in life is to see our children grow in the Lord.
On September 8th we will be dedicating children to the Lord.
This service involves parents presenting their children to the Lord and making a commitment to raise their children in the Christian Faith.
There is also a commitment from the congregation to support you as parents and help guide your children in the Lord any way we can.
We recognize that as a community of faith, we are all here to support each other as we learn how to parent and fellowship together according to God’s Word. We hope that you can join us!
–FAQ’s–
- Are child dedications Biblical? Yes. we see children dedicated to the work of the Lord by their parents many times in Scripture, and Jesus himself dedicated. Jesus would let children be brought to Him in order to be blessed.
- Do you believe in Child Baptism for salvation? No. Baptism is a personal act of faith instructed for those who believe on Christ for salvation, not prior to a confession of faith.
- Can I dedicate all my children at the same time? Yes. This depends on what you would like to do as a family.
- Is there an age limit to a dedication? Not generally, though most older kids participate primarily when the entire family is dedicating all the children at the same time.
- Should I invite family or friends? Yes! We believe that these public dedications should be shared in person, and though they will be shared virtually, it’s important to be a part of these types of services.
- What is the process? We will ask each family separately to come up to the platform for the dedication. Once the names are read and the minister leads the parents in the dedication process, the congregation will make a commitment to pray and support, and the minister will pray and dedicate the children unto the Lord Jesus.
