Who we are

Who is Harvest Valley Worship Center?

Our Vision: To reveal the love and power of God.

As a congregation of people from all different backgrounds and stripes, we want nothing less than revival (God’s presence revealed in His love and power) in our community.  We have gathered here to bring heaven to earth where the entire community glorifies God and has given their lives to Jesus. We know that we are having an impact as systemic poverty declines: physical, motivational, relational, and spiritual.

Our mission: We are a refuge for healing, a center for equipping, and a launchpad for transformation.

We come together as a family to worship, encounter God in our praise, and to be strengthened through transformational teaching and development.  Families are being transformed and healed by the love and power of God.  Our lives radically infect our spheres of influence as we reclaim and disciple the marketplace.  We release the love and power of God throughout our community as we spur each other to fulfill the great commandment and the great commission.

Values of Our Culture:

Character – living with courage in integrity, compassion, and humility.
The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity. (Proverbs 11:3, NIV)

Communication – conveying ideas, thoughts, and feelings with honesty, grace, honor, and the spirit of prophecy.
But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them. (1 Corinthians 14:3 NKJV)

Excellence – having a “no-limits mindset”, going the extra mile in every way to possess an outstanding quality.
Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm. (Daniel 6:3 NKJV)

Loyalty – choosing to live in unity through our commitment to love God and support each other.
“No!” Peter insisted. “Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!” And all the other disciples vowed the same. (Matthew 26:35, NLT)

Stewardship – managing Heaven’s resources for the Father’s business.“It will never be mine; it will always be Yours!”
As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. (1 Peter 4:10 NKJV)

What We Believe

This section is simple in nature.  If you want greater detail on any particular doctrine or scriptural foundation for any statement feel free to ask.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and is true and accurate. It is the utmost authority in life: 2 Timothy 3:16; Romans 15:4.

We believe in one God in three persons.  God the Father, from whom all things are given.  God the Son, Jesus Christ through whom His deity was manifested in human form, and God the Holy Spirit who is the conduit for the believer’s relationship with Jesus Christ and God the Father today.  All three work in unison and each person is equal as God:  Matthew 28:19; Isaiah 44:6; Revelation 1:4-5.

We believe that God made mankind perfect and eternal with freewill to make any choice mankind wanted to, and when we chose to not obey God, we sinned (breaking the natural order as was created) and all of humanity is now under the curse of sin and eternally separated from Him: Genesis 3:6; Romans 5:12-14; Psalm 51:5; Romans 3:9-23; God is holy and no sin can enter His presence, and because of God’s love He created a way for us all to come back into right relationship with Him without compromising His Holiness and perfection:  Romans 3:25-26; 4:3-8; Heb. 9:11-15.

We believe in the virgin birth, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ as it is recorded in the Gospels and prophetically told in the Old Testament: Deuteronomy 18:18; 2 Peter 1:19-21; John 1:14, 3:13-17; Romans 5:8; Luke 24:1-3. Through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, He brought forgiveness of sin to all of mankind through faith in Him and we are justified before God the Father by the blood that was shed as He was crucified an innocent, sinless man: 1 John 4: 2-3; 2 John 7; 1 Peter 2:22; John 8:46; 2 Corinthians 5:21.

We believe that God sent His Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost: Acts 2:1-4. Holy Spirit baptism is for ordinary men and women that choose to make Jesus the Lord of their life and is for today: Acts 2:38. The Holy Spirit was sent to convict the world of sin, and to be a paraclete (companion, comforter, teacher) to those who believe in Jesus Christ and are disciples of Him:  John 16:7-15. The Holy Spirit’s work can be seen in the believer through the changed life and manifestation of the Fruit of the Spirit: Galatians 5:22-26.

We believe that salvation is available to all who will believe and salvation only comes by confessing and repenting of sin, and choosing to follow Jesus: Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8. There is nothing that we can do to earn salvation or right standing with God and salvation is by faith through grace alone. God desires that everyone be saved: 2 Peter 3:9.

We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit that were experienced in the New Testament church as a result of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit are for today: Luke 24:49; Acts 1:3-8; 2:36-38; 8:12-17; 10:44-48; 19:1-7. Jesus was clear as were the apostles that all believers were to experience the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and that as many gifts as are given by the Spirit should be received and operate in a healthy community of believers: John 7:37-39; 1 Cor, 14:1-5. We believe that Scripture gives us the best outline for the function and roles for each of those gifts 1 Cor. 12 and 14.  Spiritual Gifts are to edify the Church and the individual as an outworking of love and to be a sign to the non-believer always glorifying and lifting up Jesus Christ as Lord: 1 Cor. 12:1-11.

We believe that Jesus Christ will return again to this Earth in His glory.  He will put an end to the works of Satan and will reign on this earth: 1 Thessalonians 5:1-4. We believe that only God knows the time or the date of His return, but that those who have faith in Him will experience the rapture, and the dead in Christ will rise again: 1 Corinthians 15:35-44. God will judge all mankind and grant eternal life for the righteous in Christ and eternal punishment for those who do not know Jesus Christ: Matthew 25:41.
