November 13, 2020 (download the letter here)

Dear HVWC Family:

Several ladies who attended the women’s retreat this past weekend (November 6-8) became ill with flu-like symptoms.  Yesterday afternoon, we received notification that one of these ladies tested positive for COVID-19.

We are responding to this situation according to the guidelines and requirements as established by the CDC, the state of Idaho and our denomination, the Church of God.  Accordingly, we have cancelled in-person attendance for all HVWC group activities, including the Sunday worship gathering, effective immediately and continuing until Monday, November 23rd.

If you attended the women’s retreat, reside with, or have had contact with someone who has, we recommend that you self-isolate at home and monitor symptoms through November 22nd.  Symptoms to monitor for are fever with cough and shortness of breath.  If you develop any of these symptoms, call your health care provider.  Please contact me directly if you get tested for and are positive for COVID-19.

The Sunday worship gathering messages for November 15th and 22nd will be broadcast at 10:30 am via Facebook Live on the HVWC Facebook page.  They will also be posted on the HVWC website by that same evening.  HVWC group activities may be conducted via other means such as Zoom, group phone calls, etc.

Our primary concern in response to this situation is your health and well-being.  As a church family, we know that God responds to our faith which includes healing from any sickness, so please keep those affected in prayer.  Should you need any personal prayer or encouragement do not hesitate to contact me or any of our HWVC leaders.

On a personal note, I believe it is time for this virus to experience its demise.  It has affected the nation and the world long enough.  I invite you as warriors in His Kingdom, to step into your authority and say “No more!  Cease and desist!  This virus has been defeated by the power of the blood of Christ.  It must bow to Him.”

Standing strong in Christ,

Pastor Jim Kubiak (760-855-6111)
